Mahesh Bhatt is known
for his bold cinema and honest approach towards life. In a recent
interview, the film-maker reveals his opinion on the most talked about
relation between India and Pakistan.
How did Sara Loren became a part of Murder 3?
Sara became a part because we wanted someone attractive for the role. It was unfortunate incident that we launched her in Kajraare,
but she couldn't get the right launch. She did great job in the film.
She has lot of talent and we thought it will help us for our film.
With the current relation between India and Pakistan, do you think Murder3 will face any problem because of Sara?
Indo-Pak relations change like weather. A film takes eight to nine months to be
made. When we started the film, the situation was fine and we were
talking about being friends with Pakistan. That time we started film and
now when it has ended, situations have changed. When riots happen why
people burn buses and trains? I haven't understood that how can people
destroy things which are made for their benefits.
You are known to give people chance in films from Pakistan. What's your take on it?
Yes, I have cast people from Pakistan
and I am very proud of it. We got talent from Pakistan as even if Pak
and India are separated, but culturally they didn't separate. I feel South Asia is itself a region.
Indian artists are not given a chance in Pakistan. How do you see that?
Just because somebody is doing that doesn't mean we should stop doing
what we should be doing. Our films are shown in Pakistan and that's a
reality. We started it in 2007 with Awarapan and in today's date Indian
films are shown in Pak. Even after 26/11, the situation spoiled, but
they didn't take out Indian films from there. From Pakistan we get a
major revenue stay. Whereas, the question of our artists getting work in
Pak is concerned, there is no work in Pakistan. More films are not made
there.
