We had recently reported
that Kamal Haasan will be playing the lead role in the Tamil remake of
Malayalam film Drishyam. This Malayalam crime thriller in which Mohanlal played
the father of an 18-year-old daughter is one of the biggest hits in Kerala. And
now, it looks like the film is quite hot on the remake circuit in other
languages as well.
We hear that Venkatesh will
play the lead in its Telugu remake, which will be directed by Tamil actress
Sripriya, and also that Ajay Devgn has reportedly been approached for the Hindi
version.
Sources tell us that not
only is Ajay busy with back-to-back assignments like 'Action Jackson' and
'Singham 2', but he may also hesitate to play father to a teenager. While the
makers maintain that Ajay is the first name on their wish list, the trade says that
there is also a back-up star ready for the same project.
