The Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions might have
missed actor Shilpa Shetty’s oomph this time, but other team owners made up for
it by flaunting some chic fashion.
While co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, actor Juhi
Chawla kept it crisp in a plain white monogrammed shirt, owner of Kings XI
Punjab, actor Preity Zinta made for a pretty picture in her messy bun,
sporting an ivory tee with the word, ‘Punjab’ around the waist.
In a black team blazer of her team tee, Mumbai
Indians’ owner Nita Ambani went for a nerdy chic look in her cateye glasses.
The surprise entry, however, was Bollywood charmer Ranbir Kapoor, who whizzed
into the auction arena in Bengaluru, posing as an intern of a soft beverage
brand.
Looking dapper in a casual blue tee and a pair of washed-out
denims, the naughty Kapoor lad’s fun ‘pouting’ photo were posted on Twitter,
with not just the ladies but also the men, including, Royal Challengers’ owner,
Vijay Mallya.
Meanwhile, fashion experts are impressed by the
wardrobe choices of the celebrity team owners at this year’s auction.
“IPL is always tagged as a glam event but these
celebs have broken the stereotype with the formal shirts and the blazers, thus
portraying that they are here for serious business,” says fashion designer
Jenjum Gadi.
Agrees designer Reynu Tandon, saying, “Their face
value is enough to add glam so they’ve made an apt choice by dressing down.”
Designer Anupama Dayal feels that by opting for casual chic, the celebs have
beautifully integrated fashion with their personalities, keeping the sporty
spirit intact.
